The centre has been designed to be inclusive for all sports people regardless of sport, level or ability/disability.

Our facilities are registered with the Inclusive Fitness Inititative (IFI) a programme supporting the fitness industry to become more inclusive, catering for the needs of disabled and non - disabled people, raising physical activity participation levels. This means we have:

  • Accessible Facilities
  • User - friendly customer service
  • Inclusive Fitness Equipment. Ten percent of thePoint4 gym members are registered disabled.
  • Staff trained and experienced in supporting people with a range of disabilities to enjoy sport

The quality and accessibility of our facilities has seen thePoint4 successfully attract a number of local, regional, national and international sports people and teams:

  • England Blind Football Squad - who use thePoint4 as their home training ground
  • England Partially Sighted Football Squad

  • Local Paralympians - swimming, wheelchair, rugby, athletics, shooting
  • England Women's Deaf Futsal Squad

  • Gym and fitness suite. We can also offer
    • exclusive use of one of the gyms for warm up, stretching, conditioning, training etc.
  • Onsite hotel-standard accomodation
  • Onsite catering. Our team of chefs are experienced at devising menus for elite athletes and sports people with specific catering requirements. Our Bistro has an indoor lounge, dining area and outdoor terraced balcony which can be used for event catering, award ceremonies, celebration dinners etc.
  • Conference and breakout rooms for training talks, video analysis, debriefs etc.
  • Massage and complementary therapy clinic - sports therapy trainees at The Royal National College for the Blind can be booked to offer pre and post event massage.
  • Spa facilities - sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room. Your athletes can enjoy exclusive use of one of the spa areas. Hoists are available to help those with mobility difficulties to use the Jacuzzi.
  • Hydrotherapy pool - for rehabilitation and recuperation. A Haoist is available to help those with mobility difficulties to access the pool.

  • Indoor and outdoor sports pitches.

Access for Spectators

thePoint4 sporting venue is accessible to people with disabilies. Our indoor sportshall has capacity for 500 spectators.

Wheelchair Users

Our facilities were designed with wheelchair users in mind - accessible parking, extra wide corridors, changing facilities and weight training equipment in the gym.

Hearing and Visually Impaired Spectators

thePoint4 is based at the Royal National College for the Blind, we are pretty much experts in working with people with visual impairment. Hearing loops or infra - red systems are also available.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs, including guide dogs, hearing dogs and service dogs are welcome.

Blue Badge Parking

We have blue badge parking onsite

Concessionary Membership

To encourage local people with disabilities to use and enjoy our facilities, the concessionary rate for membership of the gym and spa facilities is £19 per month. You can also bring a 'buddy' to support you with your training - ask at reception for details.
