The Point4

Paralympic Flame Event

thePoint4 and the Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) are delighted to have been chosen as one of only 33 venues in the UK to hold Paralympic Flame celebrations as part of the London 2012 Paralympic Torch Relay – and you’re invited to help us celebrate!   The event, on 25th August 2012, will have two distinct sections, the daytime 12 midday - 4pm where you can take part in several different have-a-go sessions involving paralympic sports such as blind football and goalball.

The afternoon / evening session from 4pm - 10pm will have a festival feel with more activities for children (can we include some examples?) and for the adults, BBC radio's introducing stage will be there with some great live up and coming talent. The Paralympic Flame will be paraded at the event and will be an opportunity for the community to celebrate the Paralympics coming home to London, or more specifically, Stoke Mandeville where the “Stoke Mandeville Games” for those with spinal cord injuries started originally in the 1940’s.

To top all of this off, the best bit - it is completely free! To register your interest for tickets or for anymore information please contact thePoint4 on 01432 376376. Watch this space for more information as the line up is confirmed.
